Shadow Hills Dual Vandergraph
The Dual Vandergraph is a direct descendant of the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor and maintains its reputation for undisputed quality and exceptional performance. Its internal circuitry was derived from the discrete gain section of the Mastering Compressor and combined with the extremely flexible sidechain filter matrix of the Optograph. The combination opens up great possibilities for novel recording techniques and dynamic control.
Features
Stereo compressor for API 500 systems (double width)
Discrete Class-A construction
Gridded parameters
The completely discrete audio path of this stereo compressor was implemented using Class A technology and features iron core transformers manufactured by Shadow Hills itself. The setting options are: ratio, filter, compression and output level. Just like the Mastering Compressor, the Compression and Output parameters feature high-precision 24-position attenuators. With the ratio switch you can select the following values: 1.2 : 1, 2.5 : 1, 4 : 1, 8 : 1. In addition to the ratio, preset attack and recover values are also called up with each selection. The sidechain filter matrix controls the frequency sensitivity of the sidechain. The following values are available: 90 Hz, 150 Hz, 250 Hz and bandpass. The input impedance is 20 kOhm, the minimum charging impedance is 600 Ohm.
